I think it's coming down to some impatient mouse clicks but it's diligence to ask.

has anyone been experiencing an odd increase in duplicate orders lately?

Same order, same customer, but different order numbers.

It's been happening multiple times on a client's site.  I just added a "only click once" kind of thing on the checkout page.

What is the timestamp on the orders? Are they nearly identical? And no, I can't say that I've seen this with any of our stores.

What version of BV? BV 5 uses a database stored procedure that should row lock the table before update meaning it should be impossible to get a duplicate order number.

BV5, latest version.  no hotfixes installed.

no duplicate order numbers are happening.  it's duplicate orders, different numbers. Timestamp is right on top of each other.

Seriously, I'm 99% sure it's impatient mouse clickers.

I've added a quick mention to only click the process button once and I haven't noticed any since then.

Hmm, sounds like impatient mouse clickers. Maybe a bit of javascript to disable the button after the first click.

I'm 99.99% positive it's double clickers.  Since adding the instruction to only click once, we haven't seen a duplicate order.  Timestamped it!

It was just odd timing, the impatient crowd all shopped during the same few days and within 30 minutes of each other...lol..

A disable button or a nice opacity overlay with a "Order Processing . . ." was lingering in my head.

anyone find any code to "grey out" or disable the button so it only can be clicked once?
